Bathroom wall sconces are wall-mounted fixtures that are popular options for lighting a bathroom. They are also commonly referred to as vanity lights. Bath wall sconces come in a variety of styles and finishes, so you will have no problem finding a fixture that words for your bathroom. You’ll want to look for a fixture that offers the right amount of light output and compliments the other fixtures and hardware in your bathroom.
When shopping for bathroom wall sconces, there are a variety of factors that will help you limit down your options. Style of course is an important consideration: Do you want super modern sconces or a more traditional look? What sort of finish do your bathroom fixtures have? Bath sconces come in nickel, chrome, bronze, brass and other metallic finish options. Finally you should consider how much lighting output is needed. This will depend on the size of the room, such as a powder room versus a master bath.
Bathroom wall lights vary in size and intended location. Some are linear fixtures meant to be placed above your mirror, and they may offer two or more bulbs, depending on their width. The size of your bathroom wall sconces depend on the size of the mirror and bathroom overall. On average bathroom wall sconces are around 12” tall, but you might need a larger fixture if you have a larger space with higher ceilings.
The most common placement for bathroom wall lights is flanking each side of a mirror. If you have more than one mirror, you might also place a sconce in between them. Linear wall lights are centered above the mirror.
Place your wall sconces around eye level and at least an inch or more from each side of the mirror. If placing above, aim for at least 1 to 5 inches from the mirror.
