What is The Cerno Story?

Cerno began with huge ambition as three friends decided to start a design and manufacturing company out of one of their garages in Laguna Beach, California in 2009. The three friends, Bret Englander, Daniel Wacholder, and Nick Sheridan, were in their late twenties when they set out to create what is now known as Cerno. Though they had very little knowledge or experience with the lighting industry, the three thrived in the face of adversity and established a company that’s now known for their skilled, hands-on team and the quality of each of the fixtures made in their Southern California factory.

Who are Cerno's Most Iconic Designers

Nick Sheridan, one of the company’s three founders, is the most prominent designer within Cerno Lighting. His academic background came from his time in architecture school, and within that time, he also spent an academic year studying in Italy and traveling. Within his designs, Sheridan focuses on two aspects: practicality and style. Material is another point of interest as Cerno puts an emphasis on the types of wood and veneer to create clean-cut design.

What are the Favorite Types of Lighting by Cerno?

Although Cerno is a relatively new brand, they have created a wide array of lighting types fitting for any home. Among their outdoor lights, Cerno provides outdoor wall sconces that cast light in a variety of ways. Favorites from their indoor lights include pendants, linear lights, flush-mount ceiling lights, wall sconces, table lamps, and floor lamps.

Since the company’s founding in Laguna Beach, California, they have only moved a little further away to Aliso Viejo, California to develop a larger base for Cerno and ensure that their modern LED lighting fixtures and US manufactured lights are fulfilling the company’s mission.
