What is The Fanimation Story?

Fanimation has been in the business for over 30 years now, and from the beginning, they’ve had a vision for creating beautiful fans. Founder Tom Frampton designed the company’s first fan, the Punkah, which is still available today. That fan was truly monumental for Tom and the founding of Fanimation, since it uniquely hangs blades in a horizontal row and has them move in harmony from side-to-side. Tom designed other fans as well that showcased unique design and movement that allowed him to break into the industry and create more stunning designs. 

The company has continued to develop uniquely designed, stunning fans since those humble beginnings in Tom’s garage. Tom himself takes inspiration from his passion for worldly travels and forward-thinking engineering when he designs fans along with others within the company and outside partnerships. This artistry and inspiration has led Fanimation to be a key figure in the fan industry. In fact, they’re so successful in creating unique fans that they have over 1,500 showrooms across 23 countries! 

Who are Fanimation’s Most Iconic Designers?

Fanimation has partnered with some iconic designers over the years. Figures such as Josh Wynne from Josh Wynne Construction, Casablanca Fan Company, and Hubbardton Forge. Of course, none of those partnerships would have been established if not for the company’s founding designer Tom Frampton. Aside from his first fan the Punkah, he also designed The Islander and The Palisade. Those three fans had a big impact on the fan industry as a whole by sporting different rotation styles and different blade types.
