What is The Crystorama Lighting Story?

Crystorama Lighting was officially founded in 1958, although their story begins before that. The company’s founder Abraham Kleinberg, also known as Mr. K, founded the company in Brooklyn, New York with himself as the sole employee. He had returned from the military and found employment at his brother-in-law’s lighting agency. Even though he worked in the accounting department and not as a designer, Mr. K grew to appreciate the industry and allowed this passion to drive him towards establishing his own company.

Although Mr. K is no longer the company’s sole employee or president, the company has remained family owned as his son Brad Kleinberg serves as the president and manages the day-to-day operations.

Who are Crystorama Lighting's Most Iconic Designers

The designers of Crystorama Lights are headed by the company’s Creative Director Nancy Lonoff, who has her own passion for design and has a masters in Art and Design from New York University. Not only is she an expert of her craft, but she is also the daughter of Mr. K and is proud to continue her family’s legacy in Crystorama.

Aside from Nancy and the internal design crew, Crystorama often partners with other famous lighting designers such as Brian Patrick Flynn and Libby Langdon.
