Seed Design Lighting was first founded in 1991 by Meiric, an innovative designer with the heart of an entrepreneur. Even though he had just a few ideas sketched out, he had confidence in his ideas and his ability to create stunning modern lights. He founded his company and used these sketches to create his first lines of modern lighting fixtures. Success was nearly instantaneous as people began to recognize his lights for their stellar construction, stunning aesthetics, and unique concepts. His first UFO lamp design debuted in Europe in 1992, where it went viral for its cutting edge technology and unique designs.
Seed Design has continued to grow and develop since its original conception; in the many years since the company’s founding, Meiric’s lighting fixtures have become popular worldwide. Today, the company is known for creating tranquil modern lights that use materials and finishes in fresh, innovative ways.
The most popular designer behind the brand is Meiric, the company’s founder and lead design director. He has deep creativity and great mechanical knowledge that he infuses into each of the lighting fixtures he designs and develops. He works with various other designers to create lights fitting for the Seed Design brand. Those designers include White, Cheng, Keng Dian, and Ting, who all work for Seed Design exclusively.
Seed Design’s most popular lighting types include ceiling lights, wall lights, and lamps. Specifically, they are known for many different pendant lights, mini pendant lights, linear pendant lights, and multi light pendant lights. Other popular fixtures include chandeliers, Seed Design floor lamps, and Seed Design table lamps.

Seed Design Lighting is known for their innovative nature, which has garnered them achievement awards from various councils and designers. They have achieved more than 70 patents and have received awards such as the German Design Award 2019 Special Mention from the German Design Council and China Good Design in 2016.
Seed Design Lighting’s headquarters is based in Taipei, Taiwan. Thanks to their popularity in the United States, they also have a distribution facility based in Seattle, Washington.
