What is The Visual Comfort Fan Story?

Visual Comfort Fans, originally Monte Carlo Fan Company, began as a division of Encon Fans in 1996. The founders, Hub Markwardt and his son Mike, began this division because of their desire to change the perception of ceiling fans from simple, functional appliances to a functional and attractive necessity. Their initial vision of the company remains true today as they are a branch of Generation Lighting Company, a company which is one of America’s leading lighting and ceiling fan companies. 

Who are Visual Comfort Fan’s Most Iconic Designers?

Since their inception, Monte Carlo has had meaningful partnerships with key designers. Their most infamous designer is likely Sean Lavin, who has worked with many lighting companies over the years. While he founded his own branding agency in the late 1990’s and tried to focus on marketing and branding at his time at the Tech Lighting brand, he eventually strayed towards designing and refining the brand. This accidental walk into designing led to Sean Lavin creating iconic lights and fans for Monte Carlo and other brands that are popular in the lighting industry.
