Bomma Lighting was originally founded in 2012, although their history has deeper roots than that. Jiri Trtik founded this company after a famed Czech glass factory shut down operations after 100 years of production. Trtik seized this opportunity to create Bomma Lighting and hire the skilled craftsmen and engineers who had previously worked at the factory. With this expert team, he launched his own glass company, Bomma. Bomma Lighting is now Europe’s most modern glassworks and creates highly innovative glass lighting designs. Today, Bomma Lighting is known for creating simple fixtures and crystal clear glass designs in their lights using delicate hand-blown techniques and craftsmanship.
The designers beyond Bomma lights are often unnamed as they are synonymous with the company brand. Even without these designers being recognized by name, their designs speak for themselves with their contemporary aesthetics, masterful craftsmanship, and beautiful use of glass.
