What is The Tala Story?

Tala is a recently founded company that is small but mighty. In 2015, the company was founded by three friends from Edinburgh University named Maxwell Wood, Joshua Ward, and William Symington. From the very beginning, these three have believed that great design is the fastest way to a low-carbon world. Their lights are known for both their contemporary designs and eco-friendly technology. Since their founding, they have become one of the leading lights in design-led, sustainable lighting. Within this great accomplishment, their company is proud to create lights that are gentle on the planet, provide stylish lighting, and make life feel brighter.

Currently there are over 30 people on “Team Tala,” and each member shares the belief that design can change the world. The company name itself comes from the African concept of conservation through beauty, which is a perfect representation of what Team Tala stands for.
